My walk cycle includes my little monkey character walking through Chicago (because I miss home). He is surrounded by some sort of radiating oval, because it would have taken too long to close all of my shapes and fill in every single frame. I thought this would be a unique way to include a full background without interrupting the monkey's visibility. It wasn't too difficult to have him walking behind the lamp posts, I just had to put them on a separate layer and made sure their parents peg matched that of the background. I really enjoyed this project, especially animating his tail, it was just very tedious.
